ACE HARDWARE’S 3X3 STREETBALL CHALLENGE WITH RAIN OR SHINE

Sports minded high school students recently had the rare opportunity to meet and greet their hard court heroes and play ball with them in Rain or Shine’s first-ever 3x3 Streetball Challenge at SM City Fairview.

A joint project of Rain or Shine with ACE Hardware and Adidas, the two- day event drew in high school students from the Ateneo de Manila University, La Salle Greenhills, Xavier School, Grace Christian College, St. Stephen's High School, and Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy. Arellano University, Far Eastern University, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, Far Eastern University, Quezon City Science High School and Hope Christian High School also participated in the competition.

Students were mentored – and inspired – by Rain or Shine players Raymond Almazan, Alex Nuyles, Raymond Araña and Jervy Cruz, who graced the first day of the 3x3 Streetball Challenge.

Arellano University bagged this year's Championship trophy and PhP 75,000.00 cash courtesy of ACE Hardware.  St. Stephen's High School was the 1st Runner-Up, winning PhP 50,000.00 from Rain or Shine; while La Salle Greenhills emerged as 2nd Runner Up and brought home PhP 25,000.00 courtesy of adidas Philippines. A special award was given to Jason Strait from Arellano University as the event's Most Valuable Player.

Rain or Shine Elasto hard court hotshots Chris Tiu, Paul Lee, Gabe Norwood, Beau Belga, Jeff Chan, and Jeric Teng thrilled fans when they attended the awarding ceremony along, Rain or Shine owner, Mr. Raymund Yu and Business Unit Head Edison Oribiana.
